Science, Culture, and Tourism

On August 12, 2026, the Great Spanish Eclipse will take place, the first total solar eclipse on the Iberian Peninsula in almost 120 years. Soria is located in the middle of the path of totality and will be one of the few privileged locations on the planet to observe this eclipse.

These phenomena present an organizational challenge to ensure the safety of people and a positive experience through preparation, education, and popularization.

The Soria Eclipse 2026 International Congress, Heading for the 2026 Eclipse - CISE2026, covers all these aspects of the event, serving as a reliable source of information for government agencies, educators, business leaders, public safety and health officials, and the general public.

In addition to the presentations on Saturday the 22nd, solar astronomy observation activities are being offered on Friday the 21st for schools and the general public. Everyone is invited!
